Waters We Fish

Capt. Ernie French will fish the waters of Eastern Long Island, New York all the way to Rhode Island.  These world class saltwater fly fishing waters include Gardiners Bay, Shinnecock Bay, Peconic Bay, the waters around Shelter Island, Plum Island, the Gull Islands, Fishers Island and Block Island and of course the legendary waters of Montauk.

On any given day Ernie heads to where the fish are and where the weather permits. The fish that you will pursue on your guided trip are migratory fish and there are many factors to consider such as wind, tides, moon phases and bait locations.

Through many years of guiding on these waters, Ernie French has acquired the knowledge necessary to understand how the different environmental, migratory patterns and baitfish factors will affect your day of fly fishing. Also, Ernie can choose fishing locations that are conducive to your fly fishing skill level and expectations.
